CCM USHL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Ryan Kretzer - Lincoln Stars

St. Louis, Missouri

College - Uncommitted NHL - Undrafted

Kretzer had a big week as the Stars won three straight coming out of the break. On New Year's Eve, he scored the game-winning goal and had an assist in a 3-2 win over Sioux Falls. After going scoreless in Friday's 3-2 win over Sioux City, Kretzer scored four goals, including the game-winner, and added an assist in a 6-2 win over Indiana. He's the second USHL player to score four goals in a game this season.

Taylor Johnson - Green Bay Gamblers

Hugo, Minnesota

College - St. Cloud State NHL - Undrafted

Johnson and the Gamblers started the New Year off right. Johnson had an assist in a 6-4 win over Cedar Rapids on New Year's Eve. He then had a goal and an assist in Friday's 7-2 win over Sioux Falls. On Saturday, he scored a goal and an assist again in a 7-4 win at Waterloo. Johnson had three shots on goal and was +6 for the week. He has now equalled his goal output for all of last year with five. Honorable Mention - Chris Franks (FAR), Jake Newton (LIN), John Moore (CHI)

STAUBER'S GOALCREASE USHL GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK

Anthony Borelli - Lincoln Stars

Grand Island, New York

College - Uncommitted NHL - Undrafted

Borelli helped Lincoln stay atop the West Division with strong play between the pipes. On Wednesday, Borelli made 19 saves in the Stars' 3-2 win on the road over Sioux Falls. On Friday, he won his second straight, making 35 saves in a 3-2 win over Sioux City. Borelli went 2-0-0 with a goals against average of 2.00 and a save percentage of .931 for the week.
