USHL Issues Statement on the Central Illinois Flying Aces

Ownership of the Flying Aces, working with the Office of the Commissioner and the USHL Executive Committee, requested and received approval from the USHL Board of Directors for the temporary withdrawal from on-ice competition in order to focus on the future of the organization.
The Flying Aces' current five-year lease to play in Grossinger Motors Arena ends at the close of the current season and have elected not to seek renewal with the City of Bloomington. The team has fulfilled all the terms of the lease and commits to ensure all vendors continue to be paid in full for all services provided.
The team's ownership, CSH International, Inc., based out of Everett, WA, will continue to evaluate opportunities to see the team resume play in the 2020-21 season.
Central Illinois will not participate in the upcoming 2019 USHL Draft. Players on the current roster eligible to return to the USHL next season, and players from the team's affiliate list, will be part of a dispersal draft that will take place after the conclusion of Central Illinois' season.
Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, the USHL celebrates its 17th season as the nation's only Tier I junior hockey league in 2018-19. The USHL had a record 45 players selected at the 2018 NHL Draft, more than any junior league in the world, and more than 400 players on team rosters last season committed to NCAA Division I schools, further establishing the USHL as the world's foremost producer of junior hockey talent.
