
USF Standout Whittaker To Make Debut In Nashville

TAMPA BAY - The five-time World Champion Tampa Bay Storm have activated WR/LB Huey Whittaker from the practice squad, activated lineman Thaddeus Bullard from injured reserve and signed DS Alphonso Roundtree to the active roster, Head Coach and General Manager Tim Marcum announced today.
Whittaker, a 6-foot-5, 235-pound, rookie from the University of South Florida will be making his AFL debut. The former Bull has spent 15 weeks on the practice squad. Whittaker has spent time with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2004 and attended training camp with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2005.
Bullard, a 6-4, 275-pound lineman from the University of Florida, has suited up in three games for the Storm this season. The fourth-year AFL veteran has accumulated three tackles this season.
Roundtree, a 6-foot, 190-pound rookie defensive specialist from Tulane University, has suited up for the Storm in three games this season. The former Miami Dolphin (2004-05) has made 3.5 tackles and recovered a fumble this season. He joins fellow Tulane alums Jeff Sanchez and Lynarise Elpheage this week in the Storm defensive backfield.
The Storm (7-8) travel to Tennessee to take on the Nashville Kats (7-8) to close out the 2006 AFL regular season. The game can be heard on the radio home of the Storm WDAE 620AM with Jack Harris (play-by-play) and Jason Dixon (analyst). Pregame coverage with Jack and Jason begins at 7:45 p.m. (EST).
