Gary Steelheads News Release
GARY, Indiana (June 12, 2007) - Fan Appreciation Night will have a slightly different flavor at the Genesis Center this coming Friday night. The USBL has announced that the Long Island Prime Time will replace the Brooklyn Kings as the opponent.
The current Prime Time franchise is consolidated from two teams that ceased operations earlier in the season, the Long Island Prime Time and the Delaware Stars. They are playing a road-only schedule and will not participate in the USBL playoffs scheduled for July.
"Unfortunately, Brooklyn was not able to make the trip on this last game," said Gary Steelheads Vice President and General Manager Kevin Spudic. "There has been some shakeup and changes on the scheduling, especially when we lost a couple of those teams early. Long Island has graciously donated their time to come out here and play that last game."
The Steelheads have two games remaining on their current five-game road trip, with back-to-back games against the Oklahoma Storm tonight and Wednesday night in Enid, Oklahoma.
Gary will travel back to Northwest Indiana Thursday, with Friday night's game scheduled to begin at 7:00PM CDT. For ticket information, contact the Steelheads office at (219) 883-3000.
