Update on Mackrides' Injury

July 9, 2016 - Major League Lacrosse (MLL)
Atlanta Blaze News Release

Kennesaw, Ga. - After suffering an on field injury during the last Blaze home game, Matt Mackrides will be sitting out the remainder of the 2016 season due to a spinal injury. Mackrides will not require surgery for the injury, but will take the necessary precautions to ensure that he does not sustain any further damage this year.

Blaze owner Peter Trematerra remarked, "Certainly the Blaze was hoping to have Matt suit up for future Blaze games this season but with that being said, I will always prioritize the health of our players over all else. In the coming weeks and months Matt will follow the recovery instructions of doctors and training staff and I am confident that he will return to the field next season better than ever."

The recovery process is underway and everyone at the Blaze organization is wishing Matt the best in the coming months.
