United League All-Star Announcement

Edinburg, TX; June 20, 2007- United League Baseball (ULB) announced the Team Rosters for the 2007 United League All-Star Game to be held July 11^th at the Amarillo National Bank Dilla Villa. The format of the 2007 All-Star game will be Team North, consisting of the All-Star representatives of the Amarillo Dillas, the Alexandria Aces, and the San Angelo Colts, versus Team Rio Grande, consisting of the All-Star representatives of the Edinburg Coyotes, Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings, and Laredo Broncos.

The defending ULB Champion Alexandria Aces lead the way in All-Star Selections with 9 including two unanimous selections RHP Justin Dowdy and SS Luis Guance. The host Amarillo Dillas finished will have five representatives to the All-Star Game including OF Jonathan Reynoso and RHP Jorge Lugo. The San Angelo Colts had six representatives at the ULB All-Star Game including both corner infield positions. 1B Jason Crosland and 3B Andres Rodriguez highlight the selections for the Colts. Former Colt second baseman John Anderson and last season's ULB MVP was selected for his second straight All-Star Game but has been replaced on the roster after his contract was purchased by the Chicago White Sox. Amarillo's Danny Bravo will replace Anderson in the starting line-up and Dillas's third baseman Gary Schneidmiller will occupy Anderson's roster spot as the utility infielder for Team North.

Team Rio Grande features a lot of fire power and a lot of balance in the selections. The Edinburg Coyotes have seven representatives, including four in the starting line-up, led by unanimous selection and ULB Triple Crown threat SS Nelson Teilon who is among the league leaders in several offensive categories including home runs, average and runs batted in. The Laredo Broncos also has four starters and seven selections including last season's All-Star Game Most Valuable Player 3B Edwin Maldonado. Rio Grande Valley finished with six selections including ULB home run leader DH Ryan Fox. Former Rio Grande Valley 2B Jermy Acey was selected for Team Rio Grande but is no longer in the United League after being traded to the Nashau Pride of the Can-Am League. Edinburg 2B Eric Gonzalez will replace Acey in the starting line-up and Rio Grande Valley SS Omar Bramasco will replace Acey on the All-Star Roster.

Starting pitcher will be selected by the managers of the respective All-Star team, which will be announced closer to the date of the game.
