JACKSONVILLE, FL - Wednesday, October 5, 2011 - Week 4 United Football League games will be broadcast live on regional sports networks and coverage of all teams' home and road games will aired live by local radio partners on Friday and Saturday, October 7 and 8.
To round off the weekend, SARAH THOMAS, one of two female officials working games in the United Football League, will be featured on ESPN show Inside The Lines on Sunday morning, October 9.
Thomas began her officiating career 14 years ago at the high school level in Pascagoula, Mississippi, and was hired by Conference USA in 2007 then became the first female to officiate at the major college level. She officiated in the UFL during 2010 regular season and also in the Championship Game.
Thomas will be the line judge when the 2-0 Virginia Destroyers take on the 0-2 Sacramento Mountain Lions on Friday, October 7 at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex and all the action will be aired live locally at 7pm EDT on Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic.
Fans in the Sacramento region can watch their Mountain Lions live on Comcast SportsNet California at 4pm PDT. The televised game will also streamed live on the official UFL website www.UFL-Football.com powered by Veetle and sponsored by ConAgra Foods.
Veteran broadcaster DAVE JOHNSON will call the game in the Comcast SportsNet booth alongside former NFL head coach JERRY GLANVILLE who has provided color commentary for both Mountain Lions home games this season.
Johnson is a three-time winner of the A.I.R. award as best radio sportscaster in Washington, DC and is the radio play-by-play voice of the NBA's Washington Wizards. On Comcast SportsNet, Johnson is the television play-by-play voice of D.C. United (MLS) and also frequently anchors the network's daily shows.
A live radio broadcast for Destroyers fans will air on ESPN 94.1 http://www.espnradio941.com/, while the Mountain Lions faithful can tune in to KHTK Sacramento at http://sacramento.cbslocal.com/
On Saturday at 5pm Pacific (7pm Central) at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, the 1-1 Omaha Nighthawks and 1-1 Locomotives meet in a game aired live on FOX Sports Radio 920 AM (http://werlv.com/) in Las Vegas with MITCH MOSS (play-by-play) and DOUG MARSH (color).
