
Unbeaten LA Galaxy II Host Sacramento Republic FC

CARSON, Calif. (Friday, April 11, 2014) - The LA Galaxy II will continue their five-game home-stretch when they host Sacramento Republic FC in USL PRO Week 4 at the StubHub Center Track and Field Stadium on Sunday, April 13 at 7:30 p.m. PT. All of the action will be streamed live via lagalaxy.com and the club's YouTube channel with play-by-play commentary from LA Galaxy broadcast veteran Joe Tutino.
The undefeated LA Galaxy II (2-0-1) sit atop the USL PRO standings with seven points after a convincing 4-2 victory over first year USL PRO side Oklahoma City Energy FC on Monday. The LA Galaxy II picked up their second victory of their inaugural USL PRO campaign against Oklahoma City and remain undefeated after three games.
After falling behind early on a goal by Oklahoma City's Peabo Doue in the eighth minute, Galaxy II scored three times in the first half as Laurent Courtois, Chandler Hoffman and Daniel Steres found the back of the net for LA. The visitors tried to rally in the second half as substitute Pete Caringi tallied early on but the equalizing goal never came for Energy FC and midfielder Aleksandar =C4=90okovi=C4=87 sealed the victory for Galaxy II with a stoppage time goal.
Sunday's match will mark the second time that Galaxy II will face off against their rivals from Northern California in USL PRO play. Galaxy II and Sacramento Republic FC last met on Saturday, March 29 as Los Dos earned a point in a hard-fought 1-1 draw with Sacramento at StubHub Center's Track and Field Stadium. Hoffman equalized for the home side in the 81st minute after Galaxy Homegrown Player Raul Mendiola set up the play to give the Galaxy a late draw. Mendiola now has three assists on the season, and has tallied an assist in each of the first three games forLos Dos.
Sacramento (1-0-1), who are managed by MLS' 2007 Coach of the Year Preki, will first play against the OC Blues on Saturday, April 12 before they meet the Galaxy a day later. Sacramento claimed its first USL PRO victory in franchise history on Monday, April 7 after a 3-1 victory over Chivas USA Reserves. Sacramento scored first as midfielder Mike Fucito gave his team the initial lead in the 12th minute. The Rojiblancos responded with a Luke Moore strike in the 24th minute, but the Northern California side managed to tally a pair of goals as forwards Justin Braun and Thomas Stewart each scored a goal to seal the 3-1 victory. Sacramento remain undefeated with four points, and currently sit in fourth place of the USL PRO standings.
