UIF Week Sixteen Players Of The Week Announced

July 11, 2007 - United Indoor Football Association (UIF) News Release


Omaha, NE - For the fourth week in a row, a member of the Evansville BlueCats roster has received the Defensive Player of the Week award. United Indoor Football is pleased to announce that Dale Jennings, A.J. Bryant and Derek Kutz have been named the three Players of the Week for week 16. All three played in the same game. Jennings picked up Offensive Player of the Week Award after keeping the game close against the RiverCity Rage. Bryant edged out Nate Fluit in the voting, earning himself Defensive Player of the Week for the second time and Kutz kicked another game winner to grab Special Teams Player of the Week honors.

Dale Jennings (EVA) had 124 all-purpose yards consisting of 12 carries for 26 rushing yards and two touchdowns, along with five receptions for 98 yards including a 45 yard TD for Evansville. The BlueCats will host the Bloomington Extreme Saturday night in the final game of the 2007 UIF regular season

AJ Bryant (EVA) racked up five solo tackles, six assists, eight total tackles, one tackle for loss for four yards, two pass breakups and one interception. This is Bryant's second time being voted the UIF Defensive Player of the Week (week 11).

Derek Kutz (RIV) led the RiverCity Rage to another last-second victory. Kutz went 4-of-4 on field goals from (47, 30, 26, and 25 yards) and 3-of-3 on PAT's. In the final game of the season, the Rage will travel to Sioux City to face the Bandits.

Receiving Week 16 Honorable Mentions are: Offense, Hurtis Chinn (RIV); Defense, Nate Fluit (SFS); and Special Teams, Levron Williams (EVA).
