UIF Names Week Two Players of the Week

Omaha, NE: United Indoor Football (UIF) is pleased to announce the 2006 UIF Week 2 Player of the Week awards. The Omaha Beef were honored with two players receiving the honor this week in RB, RJ Rollins and LB, Chris Eads. The special teams player of the week goes to Evansville BlueCat kicker, Ton-Ton Luyzadio.

RJ Rollins is on a MVP run for the 2006 season as a rookie to indoor football and has been honored with the Offensive Player of the Week. Rollins is currently leading the league in scoring with 6 touchdowns for 36 points already on the season. In week 2 against the Sioux City Bandits, Rollins rushed for 34 yards from 16 carries, 37 yards in receiving from 3 receptions and 42 yards in kick-returns for 113 net-yards and 3 touchdowns.

On the defensive for the Beef, was former Sioux Falls Storm linebacker, Chris Eads. Eads was given Defensive Player of the Week after he recorded 7 solo tackles, 3 assisted and was a major cause in the fumble that gave the Beef the victory last Saturday in Sioux City. Eads has 13.5 total tackles on the season in two weeks of play.

Lastly, the Special Teams Player of the Week goes to Evansville BlueCats kicker, Ton-Ton Luzayadio. The BlueCats toppled the Greyhounds Sunday afternoon while Ton-Ton connected on 3 of 4 PAT's, along with 3 of 4 field goals, including a 42-yarder. Luzayadio and the BlueCats will be traveling to Omaha this Sunday for a Week 3 matinee at the Omaha Civic Arena with a 3:35 pm kick-off.

Other players receiving honorable mention for Week 2 were: Offense- Rocky Harvey, Ft. Wayne Freedom and Defense-John Winchester, Evansville BlueCats.
