UIF Names Week 10 Players of the Week

Omaha, NE - The same three players that received the award during Week 4 of this season, once again take down the Players of the Week. Matt Kohn and Brock Dodrill (Ohio Valley Greyhounds) were awarded the Offensive and Defensive awards for their victory over the Evansville BlueCats this past weekend. Ton-Ton Luzayadio takes the Special Teams award for the third time this season as he leads the BlueCat offense.

Matt Kohn receives the Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season after he was already given the award in back-to-back weeks in Week 4 and 5. Kohn led his Greyhounds (4-5) to a victory in Evansville over the BlueCats (3-6) this past Saturday, 47-45. Kohn accounted for seven touchdowns in the win as he threw for four and rushed for three. He threw for 176-yards from 23 of 34 pass attempts and did have one interception in the contest. On the ground he rushed 14 times for 47-yards total. Kohn was a part of every single score in the game. Matt is currently first in the league in total offense (199.7 ypg) and second in passing yards per game (174.3).

Kohn's teammate, Brock Dodrill, led the Hounds defense as he made twelve solo tackles in the contest and also had two assisted, bringing his total to 13 on the night. Brock now leads the league in total tackles (79.5) and solo tackles (64) through nine games and is averaging 8.8 total tackles a night. John Winchester of the BlueCats had currently been leading the league in both categories the entire season. This victory brings the Greyhounds into the play-off race as they sit even with a 4-5 record for the final three spots with Sioux City, Omaha and Bloomington. This weekend the Greyhounds will host the Ft. Wayne Freedom (3-6) at Wesbanco Arena in Wheeling, WV with a 7:30 pm EST kick-off.

Ton-Ton Luzayadio has been awarded the Special Teams Player of the Week for the third time as he is leading the BlueCats in scoring with 102 points (2nd in the UIF) and scoring per game with 11.3 (2nd UIF). Ton-Ton went 6 for 6 on field goal attempts in the Greyhounds game and broke the UIF record for most field goals in a game. The record also set a new BlueCat franchise record as well. He was also 3 for 3 in PAT's for 100% completion on all his kicking during the game. Luzayadio is currently leading the UIF in scoring by a kick (102), field goals (24), field goal percentage (49.0%) and is fourth in PAT percentage with 83.3%. Ton-Ton and the rest of the BlueCats will host the Bloomington Extreme (4-5) next weekend at Roberts Stadium with a 7:05 pm CST kick-off.
