
UHL Alum Has Eventful Week

LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO--- Keith Aucoin made his NHL debut with the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday, January 23rd. He played more than twelve minutes in the 7-3 victory vs. the Montreal Canadiens and dished out an assist in the third period. He also played seven minutes in the 4-3 victory vs. the Florida Panthers on Wednesday, January 25th before being reassigned to Lowell of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Aucoin was selected to play in the 2006 AHL All-Star Game on Wednesday, February 1st and registered an assist during the game. The previous evening, he was a co-winner of the accuracy shooting event in the AHL Skills Competition. He currently has 52 points (19g, 33a) in 45 games for the Lowell Lock Monsters this season.
The 27-year-old native of Chelmsford, Massachusetts began his professional career in the UHL during the 2001-02 season with the B.C. Icemen. The forward collected 58 points (23g, 35a) in 44 games and was named to the UHL All-Rookie Team that season. The B.C. Icemen were coached that season by Brad Jones, who is the current UHL VP of Hockey Operations.
