OMAHA, NE - Monday, November 22 - In addition to preparing for the 2010 Championship Game on Saturday, the United Football League also is helping those less fortunate on Thanksgiving Day.

The Siena/Francis House Homeless Shelter will have its annual Thanksgiving meal at 4pm on Thursday, and the shelter will receive some help from the UFL in serving the traditional fare.

UFL Commissioner Michael Huyghue, Las Vegas Locomotives DeDe Dorsey, Chase Clement, Marcel Shipp and Ed Hartwell; Florida Tuskers Chas Gessner, Cortez Hankton, Dominic Rhodes, James Develin, Ryan Senser, Ken Parrish, Josh Beekman, Simeon Castille and defensive coordinator Chuck Bresnahan and Sacramento Mountain Lions running back and former Nebraska Cornhusker Cory Ross all are scheduled to take time to help the cause. Rhodes is participating in honor of his foundation, "Rhodes to Success."

"First of all, typically, these holidays are not happy times for people who are living in a homeless shelter, away from family and friends," said MIKE SAKLAR, executive director/CEO of Siena/Francis House. "They appreciate being able to celebrate a holiday. They will be happy and pleased, and it's going to be a fun event. I appreciate these types of partnerships. This is an event for us. I'm really excited, personally."

The shelter's meal will include turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce, green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy, bread, pumpkin pie, coffee, milk and water. The turkeys were bought and donated by sponsor partner PERFORMANCE AUTO.

The Siena/Francis House Homeless Shelter averages 450 homeless people per night, and will serve an estimated 450,000 meals this year.
