Ottawa Fury FC News Release

OTTAWA, ON - In the biggest game in club history last Wednesday in Jacksonville, Fury FC rose to the occasion scoring a 3-1 victory to capture the NASL Fall Season Championship. Two players that were at the heart of historic win - Sinisa Ubiparipovic and Colin Falvey - were named to the NASL Team of the Week on Wednesday.

Ubiparipovic scored what proved to be the match-winner with a crafty chip-shot beating a helpless Miguel Gallardo for his fifth goal of the season. Wednesday honour marks the fourth time in six weeks that the midfield veteran has nabbed Team of the Week honours. After a career-best season in the club's expansion year of 2014 (4 goals, 3 assists), Ubiparipovic has shattered his career high's with 5 goals and 7 assists in 2015 heading into the regular season finale Saturday afternoon in Atlanta. During Ottawa's impressive record in their last seven matches (6W-1D-0L), the technically gifted midfielder has netted 4 goals and 4 assists. Wednesday's Team of the Week nod is the fifth of the campaign for Ubiparipovic.

Colin Falvey has quite literally won everywhere he's been - that is no coincidence. In Charleston, the Irish defender earned the moniker 'The Charleston Rock' and despite geographic change, Falvey continues to be a rock with his new club in Ottawa. Whether it is a well-time slide tackle, winning 50/50 challenges or silencing the opposition's top scorer Falvey has done it all for Fury FC in 2015 and was a rock again Wednesday night Jacksonville whilst adding another piece of silverware to his growing resume. Wednesday's honour is the third time this season the Irishman has earned a spot on the Team of the Week.

Fury FC head to Atlanta for their regular season finale Saturday afternoon against the Silverbacks at 4pm. A win would secure Ottawa's spot as the top seed heading into The Championship - the NASL's four-team postseason tournament. A New York loss or draw would also secure top spot for Fury FC. Ottawa will then ready for the first-ever postseason match in their young history when they host the Championship Semifinal at TD Place on Sunday, November 8 at 3pm at TD Place.
