U17 Manitoba and Central Ontario head to gold medal game

The first game of the night had Team Manitoba and Team Nova Scotia battling out for team standings. Manitoba had the lead at the half with a score of 14-10. Both sides fought hard and Nova Scotia tied it up at 17 late in the 4th quarter. Just as the rain started coming down, Manitoba managed to score a final field goal to take the game with a final score of 20-17. With this win, Manitoba has sealed 1st place in the rankings and will play in the gold medal game on Saturday. Game MVP for Nova Scotia was #16 quarterback Scott Seamone, while Manitoba's selection was #12 quarterback Kevin Hayes.

The skies cleared up for the second game of the night between Team Central Ontario and Team Southern Ontario. The fans were on the edge of their seats as the game ended in a 0-0 tie. In the overtime shoot-out, Central Ontario had first ball and scored a touchdown and conversion point. Southern Ontario fought hard but could not score, ending the game with a final score of 7-0 for Central Ontario. Game MVP for Southern Ontario was #7 quarterback Ryan Fantham. Central Ontario game MVP was #71 receiver Shea Pierre. Team Central Ontario now heads to the gold medal game against Manitoba.

Final game day will take place on Saturday July 9 at University Stadium. The first game of the day at 9:00 am has Under 17 Teams Nova Scotia and Southern Ontario fighting for the bronze medal. The second game of the day at 1:00 pm has Under 19 Team Ontario playing Team Alberta. The third game of the day at 5:00 pm will have Under 17 Team Manitoba fighting Team Central Ontario for the gold medal. The final game of the day at 9:00 pm will be Under 19 Team Manitoba vs. Team Saskatchewan.
