U.S. National Under-17 Team Looks Ahead to Three Game Homestand

THIS WEEK: After being on the road since Nov. 8, the U.S. National Under-17 Team will host its next three games. Tonight (Nov. 23), the North American Hockey League's second-place Cleveland Barons come to Ann Arbor for a 7:00 p.m. tilt. Saturday night (Nov. 26), the Traverse City North Stars travel to the Ann Arbor Ice Cube for the third game in this season's series.

U.S. HEAD COACH RON ROLSTON: Ron Rolston is in his second season with USA Hockey's National Team Development Program. He has amassed a career record with the NTDP of 54-21-9. Rolston was an assistant coach in the collegiate ranks at Lake Superior State University, Clarkson University, Harvard University and Boston College prior to joining the NTDP.

U.S. HEAD COACH RON ROLSTON ON THE WEEK AHEAD: "We look forward to hosting the next few games here in Ann Arbor. We have been on the road most of November and it will be good for our guys to play a few games at home before we are back on the road."

PLAYER NOTES: Defenseman David Kolomatis (Basking Ridge, N.J.) and forward James v a n R i e m s d y k ( M i d d l e t o w n , N.J.) have commited to play hockey at the University of New Hampshire of the Hockey East Association, for the 2007-08 school year ... Kolomatis returns to the Team U S A l i n e - u p tonight after missing a month with an injury.

TIDBITS: U.S. National Under-17 Team is 3-3-0 at home this season ... The U.S. National Under-17 and Under-18 Teams combine for a home record of 9-4-0 ... So far this season, nine players from the U.S. National Under-17 Team have verbally committed to play collegiately during the 2007-08 school year.

LAST WEEK: The U.S. National Under-17 Team dropped two games at Beantown Fall Classic in Durham, N.H. against two top teams from the Eastern Junior Hockey League. On Saturday night, the team played well, but was unable to score on the Boston Jr. Bruins. On Sunday afternoon, vanRiemsdyk scored Team USA's lone goal of the weekend. in the third period. DURHAM, N.H. - The U.S. National Under-17 Team dropped the opening game of the Beantown Fall Classic to the Boston Jr. Bruins of the Eastern Junior Hockey League, 2- 0 at the Wittemore Center on the campus of the University of New Hampshire.

DURHAM, N.H. - The U.S. National Under-17 Team dropped the second game of the Beantown Fall Classic to the Manchester Jr. Monarchs of the Eastern Junior Hockey League, 3-1 tonight. James vanRiemsdyk (Middletown, N.J.) scored the lone goal for Team USA on a play from Jimmy Hayes (Dorchester, Mass.) and John Albert (Concord, Ohio).

NTDP ALUMNI UPDATE: The NTDP's first alumnus to play in the NHL, David Tanabe (White Bear Lake, Minn.), was traded from the Phoenix Coyotes to the Boston Bruins on Saturday (Nov. 19) ... Miami (Ohio) University freshman forward Nathan Davis (Rocky River, Ohio) recorded two assists on Saturday (Nov. 19) night to lead the RedHawks past Notre Dame, 3-0 ... Colorado College senior forward Brett Sterling (Pasadena, Calif.) leads the country in scoring with 22 points (12-10) in 14 games ... The University of Michigan versus University of Minnesota match-up on Friday night (Nov. 25) will feature 13 NTDP alumni (Michigan-9, Minnesota-4) going head-to-head.

UP NEXT: Next week, the Cleveland Barons comes back to town on Tuesday (Dec. 6) before the team travels to Alpena, Mich. on Friday (Dec. 6) to take on the Ice Diggers.
