Tye McGinn, Peter Sakaris eand Jacob Gervais-Chouinard are the TELUS three stars of the month

The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League today announced the TELUS three stars of the week for the period extending from Monday, March 7th to Sunday, March 13th, 2011.

The left-winger of the Gatineau Olympiques, Tye McGinn, receives the first star of the week. He distinguished himself in two games, registering 7 points with 5 goals and a +2 rating. The 6'03'' Fergus, Ontario native missed 12 games due to a broken foot, but came back strong this weekend against the Lewiston MAINEiacs. The 20 year-old forward also recorded a hat trick last Sunday at the start of the third period.

The second star of the week is awarded to Peter Sakaris of the Shawinigan Cataractes. The left-winger collected 8 points in 3 games with a +5 rating. He was named first star in games against the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies and the Victoriaville Tigres.

Jacob Gervais-Chouinard of the Val-d'Or Foreurs gets the third star of the week. The goalie had a save percentage of 0.961 with a shutout and a 0.96 goals against average.
