Maine Nordiques News Release
The Maine Nordiques are proud to announce that Ty Mathews has committed to play for UMass Boston! Ty joined the Nordiques in his final year of junior hockey eligibility and added a balance of grit and skill to the Nordiques. Ty suited up for 25 games including 4 playoff games and was able to rally 2 goals and 3 assist. Ty was able to use his two-way game at center winning face-offs on both sides of the puck and playing solid defense in the slot. Ty also wasn't afraid to shoot the puck and get one on net forcing the goalie to make a save and generating rebound opportunities. Ty was also able to win key face-offs during the season which allowed for the Nordiques to get it out of the zone quickly or keep up the offensive pressure.
Congratulations to Ty Mathews on his commitment! Best of luck T-Mats!
