Philadelphia Wings News Release

Philadelphia Wings goaltender Dallas Eliuk and rookie Ryan Ward earned NLL weekly awards for their performances against the Rochester Knighthawks on March 27.

Eliuk was named Defensive Player of the Week for his 43 save performance against the Knighthawks. The 14-year goaltender allowed only eight goals in the contest and led the Wings in a 12-8 victory that kept his team's playoff hopes alive.

Ward was named the NLL's Rookie of the Week for the second time this season. He recorded four points (2G, 2A) including the game-winning goal that gave the Wings the win over the Knighthawks. Ward received his first Rookie of the Week award for his performance against the Arizona Sting on February 14.

"Both Dallas and Ryan were outstanding against Rochester this week," said Wings General Manager Marty O'Neill. "We all know Dallas' ability to respond in pressure games, but it's nice to see Ryan in his first season playing so well in such an important game."

The Wings play their final two regular season games this Saturday, April 3 vs. the Rochester Knighthawks at Blue Cross Arena at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, April 4 vs. the Buffalo Bandits at HSBC Arena at 3 p.m. The Wings can clinch the third and final playoff spot in the East Division with a win over the Knighthawks on Saturday. A win on Saturday and a win over the Bandits on Sunday, will secure the second spot in the East and a home playoff game for the Wings. The first round of the NLL Playoffs will take place April 16-18.
