Head Coach and General Manager Bernie Nowotarski has resigned for the 2010 Season, Three year starting Running Back Jason Henley. As well as last seasons late addition at DB Clarence Curry.
Jason played his High School Football right here in Berks County at Boyertown HS and continued his college career at Kutztown University. Clarence played his High School football at Parsippany HS in New Jersey and then went on to a stellar college career at Villanova.
"Having both these guys back for another season adds a great deal of experience and team leadership to our roster. Jason doesn't carry the ball a whole lot, due to our offensive philosophy, but when he does he runs hard. Jason also catches the ball very well out of the back field. He was a Tight End in college, so we knew he could catch, but what Jason does for us is block and at 6'4" and 260lbs he does a Great Job protecting Rob. Clarence was a late roster addition to the Express. After his second week in Reading, his experience and ability to play the game really became a positive force for our Defense. At 6'1" and 205lbs his hard work landed him in our 20 man roster and he became a big part of our late season run, which carried us all the way to a National Championship victory in Casper, Wyoming with a win over the Cavalry 65-42. Clarence has been in the Arizona Cardinals camp as well as spent time on The Philadelphia Soul roster as well as playing in AF2 remarked, Nowotarski."
As it goes with Reading Express players, both of these gentlemen are Outstanding in our community. Both men are perusing Teaching Careers here in Berks County as well as coaching in the HS and Pee Wee ranks.
