Two Tomcats Receive 2010 TCL Honors

August 10, 2010 - Texas Collegiate League (TCL)
Texas Tomcats News Release

In the Texas Tomcat's inaugural season in the TCL, they finished in fourth place during the regular season with a record of 23-23 and will be the #4 seed in the 2010 TCL Playoffs. It has been a great first year from the team out of Weimar, TX, and the league has rewarded two of the Tomcat's players with All-TCL Team Selections.

Troy White, a sophomore from Northern Illinois University, was named to the All-TCL Team as a third baseman. White put up stellar number all season long for the Tomcats, finishing with a .323 batting average, six doubles, three triples, and 21 RBI. White's 54 total bases led the team.

Despite only playing in 34 games this summer, Brock Hebert tied the single season stolen bases record in the TCL with 39 and was well on his way to shattering the record when his season ended early after a hamstring injury. Hebert was named to the All-TCL Team, hitting .299 on the season with 33 runs scored, two doubles, one home run, and seven RBI. If it weren't for the injury, Hebert had a good shot at breaking the runs scored record as well.
