Tomcats Announce Suspension of Team for 2011 Season
April 5, 2011 - Texas Collegiate League (TCL)
Texas Tomcats News Release
The Texas Tomcats, a member of the Texas Collegiate League, have announced that they will not field a team in the league's upcoming 2011 season.
The Tomcats finished in fourth place in their inaugural season in the TCL in 2010 with an overall record of 24-25.
The Tomcats front office group still has hopes that the Tomcats will return to the league in 2012.
The McKinney Marshals, another team in the league based in the North Dallas area, has also suspended play for the 2011 season.
The TCL will consist of six teams this summer. The Acadiana Can Cutters, Alexandria Aces, Brazos Valley Bombers, Coppell Copperheads, East Texas Pump Jacks, and Victoria Generals will make up the six-team league. Each team will play 60 games this summer, with 12 coming against each team (six at home and six on the road).
