Two Tigers sign with Maulers

Two Auburn University players have signed letters-of-intent to play for the Montgomery Maulers in 2006. They are Derrick Graves (linebacker) and Silas Daniels (wide receiver). Graves played in all 13 games for Auburn in 2002, 03 and 2004, a total of 48 games in his four year career. Daniels saw action in 42 games 2001 through 2004 for the Tigers.

Maulers Defensive Coordinator Carlos Clayton said, "The addition of Graves adds more speed and quickness to our defense."

"Daniels adds another explosive play maker to our already potent offense." added Assistant Head Coach Mike Williams.

Head coach James Shiver said that he is excited about the attention the team is getting from quality players from area colleges. "This is how you build a winning team." he said. Coach Shiver also complimented his coaching staff on their recruiting efforts.

The Montgomery Maulers won their division championship in their inaugural 2005 season. The Maulers are a franchise team of the National Indoor Football League. The season runs March through June, the Maulers home field is Garrett Coliseum.
