Casper Ghosts News Release
Rockies catchers Kyle Blumenthal and Steven Suarez made sure the Rockies hot first half of play continued right on in the second half on Saturday night
in Idaho Falls. Suarez tagged Chukars starter Cody Harkcom with a 3-run home run in the 1st inning.
The Rockies got up 6-0 after the first two innings of action. The Chukars battled back rallying in a five-run 5th, before Casper exploded again with a four run 6th for the final difference.
Blumenthal paced the Rockies all night going 4-5 with four RBI's. Casper had a scary moment when pitcher Robinson Fabian took a line drive off his
left hip in the 5th inning. After the game Fabian said he was just a little sore after the hit.
Starter Xavier Cedeno also returned to the mound for Casper firing three hitless innings. Cedeno has missed the last three weeks with shoulder tendonitis.
Casper has Sunday off before beginning a three-game series in Orem versus the Owlz. Chaz Roe starts for the Rockies on Monday.
