WINNIPEG, MB - Coming off an impressive 33-24 victory over the Toronto Argonauts last week, quarterback Buck Pierce and receiver Cory Watson have both been honoured with Player of the Week awards.
Pierce was named Offensive Player of the Week after completing 22 of 27 passes for 361 yards and three touchdowns. His 81% completion percentage was the highest amongst all starting quarterbacks and it marked his tenth 300-yard passing game of his career. Pierce also rushed the ball six times for 24 yards. This is the fourth time Pierce has been honoured as Offensive Player of the Week in his career.
Watson is quickly making a name for himself in his sophomore season as the Bombers' go-to-guy and was named the Canadian Player of the Week as he caught seven passes for 75 yards including two big second down receptions. This is the first Player of the Week honour for Watson.
