St. Charles, MO - St. Louis Ambush forward Odaine Sinclair and defender Chad Vandegriffe were named to the Major Indoor Soccer League's All-Rookie Team for the 2013-14 season. Sinclair led the Ambush in two-point goals, total goals, assists and points. He played in all but one of the team's regular season contests. Prior to joining the Ambush, the 25 year old native of Jamaica played collegiate soccer at Baker University for head coach Nate Houser, a former Kansas City Attack and St. Louis Steamers star.
Vandegriffe proved to be an adept defender in his first season in the MISL. He led the team and was third in the league in blocks with thirty. He also helped on offense with two three-point goals, four two-point goals and three assists. He appeared in 19 of the team's 20 regular-season games. Prior to turning pro this season, Vandegriffe played prep soccer at Chaminade and collegiate soccer at Southern Methodist University before transferring to St. Louis University.
Six MISL clubs are represented in the teams, with the Milwaukee Wave, Missouri Comets and Syracuse Silver Knights leading the way with four selections each. The Baltimore Blast had three players honored, while the St. Louis Ambush had two and the Pennsylvania Roar had one. The All-MISL and All-Rookie teams are selected through a vote by MISL team management.
