Texarkana Twins News Release
Texarkana, USA - Close to capacity at George Dobson Field witness stellar pitching and clutch hit to bring home the first-ever playoff win.
Record crowd out at George Dobson Field as fans were treated to one of the best games all season. This game had everything in some gems by the pitchers and late-game drama. This was the last home game for the Twins of the 2019 season.
The game started off with both teams scoring a run in the first inning. Then the pitching for both teams was amazing. Colten Davis was absolutely lights out on the mound. Davis pitched a complete game with only allowing one earned run. Davis' final line was 9 innings pitched, 1 earned run off 7 hits and one walk, and 5 strikeouts.
Drama ensued late in the bottom of the ninth. The inning started off rough as the first batter up struck out. That was then followed by a Reese Durand walk. Then Ryne Randle got his first hit of the night with a single in between the first and second basemen. Lee Thomas struck out, but during his at-bat, both runners advanced during a wild pitch. JJ Flores was then intentionally walked bringing up Christian Boulware. Boulware was 0-3 on the night, up to that point, and swung on the first pitch. The ball was hit right over the shortstop to bring home Durand and give the Twins their first-ever playoff win.
Thank you to all the Twins fans for the support for the season as this is the last home game of the season. For more information about tickets to those games and more visit texarkanatwins.com or call 903-294-PLAY.
