Texarkana Twins News Release

Texarkana, USA - The Texarkana Twins defeated the Victoria Generals 6-1 in front of a great crowd at George Dobson Field. Texarkana took the lead in the first inning and lead the whole way through.

The tone was set right of the bat during the first inning, with the Twins going through most of the lineup and scoring two runs. For the game, Twins Starting Pitcher Braden Boyd went six innings, only allowing 5 hits, picking up one strikeout and allowing zero runs. Twins second baseman Dylan Ditzenburger started this series strong, going four for five at the plate with two RBI's. Shortstop Gunner Halter had an impressive triple in the first inning with two RBI's to help add to the Twins lead. Twins manager, Jake Mitzner, was very proud of his team, "I'm extremely proud of my pitchers. Giving up only six hits and one run against the Generals gave our home crowd a great show."

For the Generals, the biggest positive came from the defenses ability to keep the Twins exceptional bats to minimal success throughout the game. The Generals put a run on the board late in the ninth inning. The club struggled to string together hits against the Twins pitchers and struggled to score because of it. The Generals starting pitcher, Cole Wesneski, struggled with his control giving up nine hits, two walks, and one hit batter, giving up three runs in four innings pitched.

The Twins will return to action tomorrow May 28th against the Victoria Generals, for Military Appreciation Night. After that the Twins are on the road to take on the Brazos Valley Bombers in Bryan, Texas.
