
Twins bounce back to defeat Astros

Greeneville, TN - The Greeneville Astros and Elizabethton Twins had a delayed start of a little over an hour for rain on Thursday night at Pioneer Park. When play finally started, the Twins bounced back from their loss to the Astros the night before and defeated Greeneville 12-1.
The Twins got a two-run double from Niko Goodrum in the third inning to start the scoring. In the fifth, sixth and seventh innings, they added nine more runs. Then, they closed out the scoring with one more run in the ninth. Greeneville, meanwhile, got a run on a sacrifice fly from Brian Blasik in the sixth.
Elizabethton picked up 13 hits on the night with all nine batters chipping in with at least one hit apiece. Candido Pimentel led the way by going three-for-four and scored two runs. Meanwhile, Niko Goodrum and D.J. Hicks each added two hits.
Tyler Herr (3-0) got the win for the Twins after giving up one run on one hit over two innings.
