Tuskers Lose Harrington, Sign Moore

ORLANDO, FL - MONDAY, October 4, 2010 - For the second time in three games, the Florida Tuskers have lost a starting defensive end. On Monday, the team learned that Chris Harrington will have to undergo season-ending surgery to repair a torn ACL and MCL.

Harrington, who replaced injured defensive end Eric Powell (ankle) after week one, was hurt in Thursday's 20-17 loss to Las Vegas.

To replace Harrington, the Tuskers announced the signing of Eric Moore. A former Florida State standout, Moore 6-4, 270) spent five seasons in the National Football League - playing for the Giants, Rams and Panthers. In 29 career games, he recorded 31 tackles with a pair of quarterback sacks. At FSU, Moore recorded 14 quarterback sacks and 30.5 tackles-for-loss. He was second team All-ACC in 2003.

On Monday, the Tuskers also released defensive back David Irons. In three games in a reserve role, Irons recorded a pair of solo tackles. To replace Irons, the Tuskers brought back former Boston College defensive back DeJuan Tribble. In 2009, Tribble recorded 16 total tackles (14 solo, 4 assists) to go with six pass defenses and one quarterback sack. Tribble has NFL experience with the San Diego Chargers and went to camp this year with the UFL's Omaha Nighthawks.

TUSKERS NOTES: Outside the Huddle, the Tuskers critically acclaimed magazine show will air on Bright House Sports Network at 10 p.m. on Tuesday with a replay at 10:30 a.m....On Wednesday Florida Tuskers Rewind, a one-hour condensed replay of the Las Vegas game will also air on Bright House Sports Network at 12 midnight on Wednesday, with a replay slated for 10:30 a.m. Thursday...LB Odell Thurman set team records for single game solo tackles (10) and total tackles (11) against Las Vegas...Seven of Ken Parrish's 15 punts have been downed inside the opponents 20-yard line this year... In nine previous UFL games (including last year's championship), the Tuskers allowed an average of 89.1 yards rushing per game...Last week, the Locomotives gained 174 yards rushing on 36 carries against the Tuskers - averaging more than 4.8 yards per tote.
