Turlock Cal Express News Release
The Turlock Express, whose surprising run in this year's Lamar Hunt US Open Cup gained them national attention, will continue their summer tour with an exhibition against the Fresno Fuego.
The Fuego eliminated the Express from the US Open Cup 2-0 on May 15. The rematch will take place on June 27 at Chukchansi Park in Fresno. The game will be the prelude to the highly anticipated international friendly between Club America and Jaguares. The doubleheader will likely expose the Express to 10,000 plus attendees.
The Express are spending the offseason building awareness of the team which is coming off a successful first pro season indoors. Besides the string of outdoor games, the Express has a team competing in the PASL-Premier summer arena season.
Turlock is also in the process of continued renovations to Turlock Indoor Soccer to increase the capacity and enhance the fan experience for next season.
"We're the smallest market in a growing league," said Express owner Art Pulido, "so we have to work harder than everyone else to stay competitive and keep up, but the response has been great and we have a lot of momentum."
