
Turfcats Wants You To Name That Mascot

Austin - One week after the team attended the Southern Indoor Football League meetings in Lake Charles, Louisanna and the team released its team colors and logo for the Turfcats, they are once again turning to the fans of Central Texas for help.
Today the Turfcats announced a "Name the Turfcat Mascot Competition", where fans of Central Texas area football will be asked to create a unique and catchy name for their future team mascot. Fans of all ages will be given the opportunity to submit their suggestions via email to turfcats@gmail.com.
"With the help of Turfcat fans throughout Central Texas, I am confident we can find the perfect name for this mascot for the inaugural 2009 season in the SIFL," said Vice President/General Manager Ronald Oswalt. "Our mascot will be one of our most important ambassadors and representatives in the community, there should be no shortage of quality suggestions."
One lucky fan will be chosen to receive four tickets to opening night where they will be recognized for assisting in naming the mascot, a $50 gift certificate in team merchandise, and an autographed team football of the 2009 Austin Turfcats.
The Southern Indoor Football League is a professional indoor football league located in the Southeastern U.S. Kickoff to the season is scheduled for April of 2009.
