Turfcats Schedule Cheerleader Auditions

AUSTIN, Texas - The Austin Turfcats announced today that auditions for the 2010 Lady Cats dance team have been scheduled for the weekend of October 24-26, 2009.

The audition process will consist of two learned dance routines, an interview, three cuts, and will conclude with a finale showcase open to the public on October 26.

"I am very honored to have received the award for best dance team of the year for the Southern Indoor Football League and am looking for women who can fit into our team," said Lady Cats Director Michelle Guidry. "We have set our standards high and expect the Lady Cats to represent the Turfcats well both on and off the field. There is a lot of talent in the Austin area and I am very excited to put this dance squad together. I'm confident that the 2010 Lady Cats will be even better than last year."

Women of all dancing skill level are encouraged to come to the auditions as long as they meet the requirements. Eligible candidates will be 18 years old by October 24, 2009, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and be able to attend all practices, games, and appearances. Lady Cat contestants should wear a half top, hot pants or boy shorts, nude tights, dance shoes or sneakers, and have their hair and makeup performance ready.

The first two days of tryouts will be held at the Austin Cheer Factory at 13800 Dragline Drive, Suite A, in Austin. The location for the final day of tryouts will be announced at a later date. Cost for the audition is $50 per contestant. Following the conclusion of the final night of auditions, the 2010 squad will be announced with contract signing to immediately follow.
