Turfcats' Quiroga Wins Player of the Week

Austin, TX - Austin Turfcats (6-2) wide receiver Robert Quiroga has been named the Southern Indoor Football League's VIDSWAP.com Player Of The Week by virtue of his performance and fan vote. This came after Saturday's game where Quiroga had five catches for 60 yards and a touchdown in the Turfcats' 41-34 victory over the Texas Hurricanes. Quiroga received 52 percent of the weekly fan voting on www.southernifl.com. For the season, Quiroga has 22 catches for 247 yards and seven touchdowns. Each SIFL game has four MVPs for offensive, defensive, line and special teams. Two game MVPS are selected to be on the ballot for the player of the week vote. The Turfcats' Reggie Smith, another wide receiver, came in second in the vote with 15 percent after he had . The Turfcats travel to Lafayette, La on Monday to take on the Acadiana Mudbugs (5-3). Kickoff is at 7:05 p.m. at Blackham Coliseum and tickets will be available at the ticket booth on game day.
