Turfcats Promote Reading In Local Schools

January 6, 2009 - Southern Indoor Football League (SIFL)
Austin Turfcats News Release

Austin - The Score With a Turfcat for Reading program is designed for elementary students in the greater central Texas I-35 corridor area. The program encourages reading by recognizing and rewarding the top 10 elementary classes that read the most combined hours during the spring semester of 2009.

Students score a touchdown for every seven hours that they read. At the end of the program, each class tallies their touchdowns, and the top ten classes that score the most touchdowns win the event and receive a special event at their school that includes a visit from the Austin Turfcats.

As an added incentive, each top 10 class will receive one free ticket voucher to an Austin Turfcats game. The Austin Turfcats have set a goal of over 5,000 books to be read this upcoming season.

Log on to turfcats.com and send us your school info to participate. For any additional information and/or to order a season ticket package, call the Turfcats at (866) 969-8228 (TCAT) today.
