Austin, TX - The Austin Turfcats are inviting Austin's best musicians and bands to create an original theme song that will become the teams' official introduction music for the 2009 season. Artists can submit their recordings to team officials by sending a copy of their music to Jack Dixon at jack@turfcats.com.
The winner will be selected March 13th and given the opportunity to make an appearance in front of a Turfcats crowd at halftime and receive two season tickets and an autographed game ball. Not only that, but the artist's song/music will forever become known as teams' first ever official theme song.
The Austin Turfcats are beginning their first season in the brand new Southern Indoor Football League. "We thought this was a unique way to have some of Austin's original musical artist to get involved with our team," said Director of Game Operations Jack Dixon.
"We really want our fans to feel a local connection, and we've already had some good song submissions so far, but we're hoping to hear something that really gets our fans excited as our players come onto the field." added Dixon. The deadline for submitted music is March 12th.
