Turfcats Hit the Links for a Good Cause

March 26, 2009 - Southern Indoor Football League (SIFL)
Austin Turfcats News Release

Austin, TX - On May 16th, representatives from the Austin Turfcats will hit the links at Crystal Falls Golf Course for the 7th Annual Norton Moses Scholarship Golf Tournament. The tournament benefits Norton Moses Masonic Lodge of Leander and its college scholarship fund. The non-profit organization is proud to have supported college scholarships benefiting graduating local high school seniors for over 20 years to assist them in covering some of the ever increasing costs of higher education.

The tournament has just recently been renamed the Ralph Jones Memorial Scholarship Tournament in memory of its founder, Ralph Jones, who lost his battle with cancer last month.

The event attracts golfers from all over the Central Texas area looking to have a wonderful time and give to a great cause. The event is a four man scramble-best ball tournament, so that means even the worst of players can have a good time and look good too. Everyone who plays receives a goody bag packed with great items from local sponsors, 18 holes of golf on an amazing course, a tasty bar-b-que lunch, the possibility of winning door prizes, and maybe even snagging a wonderful auction item.

The Turfcats will have the Turfcat Cheerleaders and Berry Thom, Voice of the Turfcats and Senior Warden of the lodge, in attendance at the tournament.

For more information on how to sign up to play visit www.nortonmoses.com Sponsorship opportunities are also available.

Don't forget after the tournament to go home, take a nap, and get ready for the Austin Turfcats game that night at 6:30 pm versus the Acadiana Mudbugs. GO TURFCATS.

Opening day for the Turfcats is April 18 versus the Acadiana Mudbugs. Affordable sponsorship opportunities are still available to local businesses and are a great way to associate your company with a professional sports team.
