Austin Turfcats News Release
Austin, TX - The Austin Turfcats led by head coach Chris Duliban again put his Austin Turfcats team through a three-hour workout on Saturday, the fourth practice of the preseason. The Turfcats worked out in shorts only and will put on full pads for the first time Tuesday.
"Saw some improvement today, but we've still got a long way to go to prep for the SIFL," Duliban said. Compared to first day of workouts, Duliban said, "Practice today was a little smoother, but we'll really start to see what we have on Tuesday when we put the pads on."
Catches by Darrick Wallace deep, crisp throws by Kelly Hancock highlighted the spirited practice at the Soccer Zone. The team spent extensive time conditioning and starting to implement the new "Cat Scratch" offense. The offensive line and defensive lines worked on basic techniques and pass rush schemes.
"It was great to see the players start to get after it, I can't wait till the hitting begins for our team," said Ronald Oswalt, Turfcats Vice-President/General Manager.
More than 50 fans were in attendance at Saturday's practice, and all team practices will be open to the public as well.
