Austin Turfcats News Release

Austin, TX - The Austin Turfcats announced today the signing of tight end and defensive lineman Barrett Dallmeyer. Dallmeyer is a local Anderson product in Austin, Texas and joins the team at 6'4, 265 pounds, and brings a wealth of indoor football experience to the first year squad in central Texas.

Dallmeyer finished up his second season in the af2 following a two-year stint in the intense football league where he played for the San Angelo Stampede. In 2006, Dallmeyer was named the IFL defensive lineman of the year coming on the heels of a season that saw him among the league leaders in tackles (40.5), sacks (3), and forced fumbles (3). He played college football at San Angelo State University and was a three-year letter winner in high school. Dallmeyer also played for Arkansas Twisters in 2006. He is known for his intensity on the football field as he routinely provided tremendous pressure on opposing quarterbacks. In 2007, Dallmeyer accounted for 15 unassisted tackles, ten assisted tackles, and 2.5 tackles for a loss.

The Austin Turfcats (1-1) return to action on May 9th versus the undefeated Louisiana Swashbucklers at Adfirmative.com Field at the Travis County Expo Center for a 6:30 p.m. kickoff.
