Turfcats All over Austin on Saturday

Austin, TX -The Austin Turfcats announced the schedule for the team's events on Saturday in the capital city. The team caravan will be at three events in one day.

The team will begin with cheerleader auditions hosted by Austin Cheer Factory at 10 am to 5 pm. Audition requirements are as follows: Must be at least 18 by 3/21/09, be a high school graduate, be available to attend all games and practices, pay a non-refundable application fee of $50. Auditions will be held at Austin Cheer Factory. Candidates should wear hot pants or boy shorts, crop top or sports bra (be creative), jazz shoes and/or tennis shoes, and nude tights. Hair and makeup should be performance ready.

Turfcats team officials will then roll into SWSW. The team will make a two hour appearance at the booth of Captiva Music Group headed by Chris Perez. The booth will be located at Neches and 6th Street and will be hosting several bands in conjunction to the team's appearance. The team expects to be there from 12pm to 2pm.

SWSW is one of the world's largest music and film festivals it shows Austin's eclectic music scene and encompasses a wide variety of music including country, folk, jazz, blues and rock. Central Austin boasts more original music nightclubs in a concentrated area than any other city in the world.

The team will make its final appearance at the last free agent combine of the year led by Head Coach Chris Duliban. The combine camp will be held at Soccer Zone South, 9501 Manchaca, at the northeast corner of Slaughter and Manchaca.

Registration begins at 2:00, and combine begins at 3:00. This workout will blend 20 signed veterans, 20 returnees from previous camps, and all new registrants. 40 athletes will be chosen from this camp. The camp will be under the direction of Turfcats Head Coach Chris Duliban and his coaching staff.

This will be the last open combine for the 2009 Turfcats. The format will consist of a variety of physical tests, including the 40 yard dash, 15 yard shuttle, 200 yard shuttle and the standing long jump. Participants will be timed and measured in all of these events. After an evaluation of each participant's times and scores, the group will be reduced to a number of individuals who will be asked to participate in select physical drills. Another evaluation will leave the remaining to participate in skill drills which are related to Indoor Football.

Each event will be led by members of the Turfcats staff including Chris Duliban, Ronald Oswalt and various players and other support staff.
