Tulsa Shock and American Fidelity Assurance Company Honor PE Teachers and Coaches

TULSA, Okla. (September 20, 2012) - This season, American Fidelity Assurance Company and the Tulsa Shock honored seventeen outstanding teachers and coaches as the American Fidelity Assurance Company's PE Teacher/Coach of the Game. American Fidelity Assurance Company and the Tulsa Shock believe it is important to recognize outstanding PE teachers and coaches who make a positive difference in the classroom. PE teachers and coaches shape the lives of so many students by promoting leadership, health, wellness and fitness.

This season 17 Tulsa area PE Teachers and Coaches were selected from the Tulsa Metro area.

The 2012 honorees are:

- Edie Allen

- Lisa Clark

- John LaFrere

- Cathye Hotaling

- Latina Busby

- Melissa Parks

- Brian Underwood

- Tucson Grigg

- Doyle Rowland

- Les Reed

- Francie Hamer

- Linda Lemley

- Jermaine Watkins

- Sarah Holland

- Tim Melton

- Lavelle Dyer

Furthermore, Francie Hamer was selected as the 2012 PE Teacher of the Year. Hamer has been teaching physical education for nine years and is currently teaching at Zarrow International School. As PE Teacher of the Year, Hamer will receive a $500 certificate for a class makeover or fitness equipment, two Shock season tickets for 2013 and an invitation to participate in the upcoming 2012 Tulsa Shock Fantasy Camp.
