Wichita, Kan. - The Wichita Stealth will be holding their annual player and dance team tryouts this weekend. Dance team tryouts are Friday, November 21st at the Four Points Sheraton (5805 W. Kellogg) beginning at 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, November 22nd, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Player tryouts will be on Sunday, November 23rd, beginning at 8:00 a.m. at Sluggers (1441 N. Ridge Road). Registrations are still being accepted and fans can get a registration form by visiting www.wichitastealth.com and clicking on the dance team or player tryout link. Walk-up registration is also allowed for both tryouts.
The dance team tryout participants will learn a routine on Friday night and come back Saturday morning to participate for a spot on the 2004 Wichita Stealth "Bomb Squad". The registration fee for the dance team tryout is $20. Last season, the "Bomb Squad" was selected as the third place dance team in arenafootball2.
The player tryout will consist of two sessions. In the first session, prospective players will be tested in the following areas: 225-lb bench press, vertical jump, 40-yard dash and shuttle run. The second session will be an invitation only session. Players will be invited back by the Wichita Stealth coaching staff and will be asked to run position specific drills. The registration fee for the player tryout is $45.
Cash and cashiers check will be accepted at registration on the day of the tryouts.
The Stealth are coming off of a franchise record in wins and look to improve upon that mark in 2004. The Stealth will begin their fourth season in April 2004.
STEALTH NOTES: Season tickets are still available by calling the Stealth ticket sales representatives at 316.755.3307. Prices begin as low as $80 for all eight 2004 regular season home games...Fans, can also visit the Stealth kiosk at Towne West Mall near the food court for season ticket information and a wide variety of Stealth merchandise.
