Tropics Still Eyeing Second in East as St. Louis Comes to Town for Two to End Regular Season

March 31, 2023 - Major Arena Soccer League (MASL)
Florida Tropics SC News Release

LAKELAND, Fla -- Although the St. Louis Ambush won't have much on the line this weekend other than pride, the Florida Tropics are still hoping to improve their playoff positioning in games Friday and Sunday at the RP Funding Center that will close the 2022-23 regular season.

Florida has already qualified for the post-season, and currently sits in third place, six points back of the Baltimore Blast. If Florida can win both against St. Louis, and should Utica defeat the Blast on Sunday in regulation time, Florida would improve to second in the East division, and have home field advantage against the Blast who they would meet in the first round. Florida needs two points in the two games to ensure a third place finish in the division ahead of Utica.

No playoff times or dates have yet been announced. Once the full field is set after this weekend's action, pairings and locations of playoff games will be announced.

Ricardo Carvalho comes in as the Tropics leading scorer this year with 17 goals and 14 assists. William Eskay leads the Ambush attack with 21 goals and eight assists for 29 points.

Friday's start is at 7:05 p.m. with Sunday's kickoff at 3:05 p.m. Both games will be broadcast live on MASL TV on Twitch.

Home game tickets are available starting at just $7 per game by calling the arena box office at 863-834-8111. Although tickets are also available online at www.rpfundingcenter.com, service fees are significantly higher through Ticketmaster as opposed to calling the box office directly.
