
Tropics Add Forward VcMor Eligwe to Roster for Remainder of 2021 MASL Season

LAKELAND, Fla. - Former Dallas Sidekicks and Mesquite Outlaws star forward VcMor Eligwe has signed to play the remainder of the 2021 Major Arena Soccer League season with the league-leading Florida Tropics.
Eligwe is on loan from the Mesquite Outlaws who elected not to play this spring because of the national Covid outbreak.
In 65 MASL games in the last three years, he has collected 62 goals. A collegiate star for Midwestern State University, Eligwe played for the U.S. National men's arena soccer team in the 2019 World Cup event in Australia.
The native of Atlanta was the Sidekicks leading scorer in the 2018-19 season with 27 goals and eight assists for 36 points. His 20 goals last year for Mesquite was second best on the Outlaws. He also suited up for the 2016-17 Sidekicks, getting 21 goals in 20 games that year.
Florida wll not play Super Bowl weekend, but will return to the pitch on Friday, Feb. 12 in Dallas before returning home to meet Tacoma (Feb. 18), San Diego (Feb. 19) and Ontario (Feb 21) as the RP Funding Center hosts six MASL games in four days,.
The league is announcing schedules only a month at a time because of the pandemic restrictions, but the final games of the regular season will be played by April 18. Teams must play a minimum of 12 regular season games to qualify for post-season play, and can play up to a maximum of 24 games. Standings and playoff seeding will be determined by a team's overall winning percentage.

The team and arena have devised a socially distanced seating plan that can accommodate approximately 1,500 fans per game. Facial coverings will be required for those in attendance.
