Tri-City Dust Devils News Release

Another excellent pitching performance paced the Tri-City Dust Devils (5-2) to a victory Monday night at Gesa Stadium over the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes (4-3). Kenny Durst (1-1) hurled 5 innings, allowing only 3 hits, to pick up his first win of the season. Michael Marbry, Ethan Katz, and Austin Chambliss worked 4 scoreless innings to preserve the Tri-City win.

The four Tri-City pitchers combined to scatter 5 hits and allow 0 earned runs on the night, which lowers the team ERA to a league-leading and miniscule 1.45.

The Dust Devils used 8 hits on the night to tally their 3 runs. The Tri-City lead was padded in the bottom of the 8th inning when Patrick Rose tripled and scored on a Leonardo Reyes squeeze bunt.

Gib Hobson (0-1) took the loss for the Volcanoes by giving up 5 hits and 2 unearned runs over 3 innings of work.

The five-game series against the defending Northwest League Champions continues Tuesday night. Tuesday night is Allstate Insurance Safe Driving Night, where the first 1,000 fans through the gates at Gesa Stadium will receive a cellular hands-free set.

Tickets can be purchased at the Dust Devils box office, by phone at 544-8789, online at www.dustdevilsbaseball.com, and at all TicketsWest outlets. Season tickets, mini-plans, and group tickets are also available at the box office and over the phone.
