PrimeTime Players News Release
Ft. Mill, SC: The PrimeTime Players moved within one win of capturing the TRBL title in their first season in the league on Friday night, defeating the Fayetteville Crossover 126-109.
A slow start from PrimeTime saw them carry a one point deficit into the first intermission, but the team rallied and outscored the Crossover 68-44 over the next two quarters.
Antonio Houston led the way for PrimeTime (12-1) with 32 points and six assists, while Donald Rutherford added 28 points of his own. Houston scored 11 straight points for PrimeTime in the third quarter during the team's decisive run.
Fayetteville roared back to within striking distance in the fourth quarter, and at one point cut the PrimeTime lead to eleven before consecutive baskets and a string of free-throws sealed the deal for good with under three minutes to play.
Jarrick Jones led the way for the Crossover with 31 points, while Deshawn Mclean tallied the only double-double of the evening with 27 points and 15 rebounds. Fayetteville finished the season 5-8.
The PrimeTime win sets up a third meeting with the Cary Invasion in what will be a championship game featuring the league's two powerhouse squads. PrimeTime won the first two matchups by a total of 12 points. The game will be played on PrimeTime's home floor at The Point at 1:00pm on Saturday.
