TRBL Announces 2012 All Star Team

Wilmington, NC: The Tobacco Road Basketball League has announced its 2012 All Star Team. All Stars were selected based on votes from team coaches and owners. The selections were as follows:

First Team:

Antonio Houston (Catawba) - PrimeTime Players (27.2 PPG)

Dana Pickett, Jr.(Mount Olive) - Big Texas (19.6 PPG, 5.1 APG)

Zach Herrmann (Augusta State) - Wilmington Sea Dawgs (13.0 PPG, 7.3 APG)

Kason Cheeks (Mount Olive) - Carolina Gladiators (26.0 PPG, 12.8 RPG)

Freddie Little (Monticello) - Cary Invasion (18.0 PPG)

Second Team:

Jon Moore (NCCU) - Cary Invasion

Brandon Streeter (Mount Olive) - Fayetteville Crossover

Nate Priest (UNC Pembroke) - Big Texas

Travis Taylor (Clafton) - Carolina Gladiators

Donald Rutherford (Catawba) - PrimeTime Players

Honorable Mention:

Scott Draughn (Winthrop) - Carolina Gladiators

Daniel Jackson (Shaw) - Cary Invasion

Jamal Carpenter (Fayetteville State) - Fayetteville Crossover

Vic Street (Erskine) - PrimeTime Players

Michael Bland (Winston Salem State) - Queen City Express

Antonio Houston, Dana Pickett, Jr., and Zach Herrmann were all unanimous selections. Antonio Houston was the league's leading scorer who highlighted his season with a 50-point performance in PrimeTime's regular season finale at Fayetteville.
