Trois-Rivières - Merci Trois-Rivières! One exclamation point probably doesn't suffice to express how grateful the Alouettes are to have spent the last three weeks in the heart of la Mauricie.
Everyone who we interacted with closely, or from afar, in Trois-Rivières helped make this training camp a success.
"Even though it was our first time in Trois-Rivières, the people involved were so helpful throughout camp that it felt like they had hosted professional football training camps for years," said Alouettes Director of Football Operations Éric Deslauriers following the final walkthrough of camp on Thursday. "Everyone was very helpful and allowed to make this camp a successful one. Thanks for your help and support."
Head Coach Khari Jones was mainly concentrated on what was happening on the field. Everyone who helped out allowed him to do just that.
"People were so friendly. The support they showed us throughout camp, and notably during the intra-quad game, gave us a great dose of energy," declared Jones. "Our players worked hard, and the people here were super. It was a great experience altogether."
The players were pretty much saying the same things after taking advantage of the Cégep de Trois-Rivières Diablos' installations on a daily basis.
"I was chatting with the guys and we loved our stay in Trois-Rivières. From the people on the field, to the staff of the Cégep, the UQTR and the cafeteria, all were so welcoming. I look forward to coming back here and seeing our fans again," said defensive back Najee Murray.
