
Training Camp Chance For Three Beacons

Port Huron, MI â The Port Huron Beacons of the United Hockey League (UHL) announce the invitation for AHL tryouts for Michel Beausoleil, Samuel St. Pierre, and Don Malko.
Beausoleil, native of Montreal, Quebec has been invited to the Cleveland Barons of the AHL (American Hockey League) training camp. This 23 year-old right-winger completed his rookie with the Beacons earning 22 goals, 29 assists, and 100 penalty minutes. Beausoleil was ranked sixth among the Beacons in points and second among league rookies in points, goals, and assists. The Barons are affiliated with the San Jose Sharks of the NHL.
Samuel St. Pierre, 6-1, 200 lb. right-winger from Laurierville, Quebec has been invited to participate in the training camp of the Grand Rapids Griffins of the AHL. St. Pierre played most of last season for the Johnstown Chiefs of the ECHL (East Coast Hockey League). While with the Chiefs, he earned 23 goals, 35 assists, and 38 penalty minutes. The Griffins are the affiliate of the Detroit Red Wing of the NHL.
Don Malko was invited to the training camp of the Manitoba Moose of the AHL. Malko, a native of Winnipeg, Manitoba is in his third year of playing professional. This 25 year-old played with the Indianapolis Ice of the CHL (Central Hockey League) during the 2001 â 2002 season. While with the Ice, he earned one goal, eight assists, and 86 penalty minutes. The Moose are affiliated with the Vancouver Canucks of the NHL.
The Beacons take the ice at home on Saturday October 25, 2003 at 7:05 PM against the city rival the Flint Generals. Get a complete schedule at the Beacons official website.
