Trading Cards, Airplanes and Playoff Games Highlight Weekend
April 1, 2009 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
North Iowa Outlaws News Release
Mason City (IA) Sure the start of the North American Hockey League playoffs this weekend are an incentive for fans to come out to the North Iowa Ice Arena, but like toppings on a sundae, a few added promotions will only serve to further enhance the experience.
The Outlaws begin their best-of-five NAHL first round series against the Owatonna Express with home games on Friday and Saturday at 7:30pm. On Friday, the first 500 fans will receive the official 2008-2009 Outlaws' team trading cards sponsored by Crown Point Builders in Garner. In addition, Crown Point Builders will be throwing shirts, bags, caps and other merchandise into the stands throughout the game.
Then on Saturday, fans will be entertained by a model airplane show during the intermissions. The fact the North Iowa Ice Arena has a short ceiling will actually make the show all that more impressive as fans will be amazed at what these model flying machines can do with limited space. The performers are brought to Mason City by Kingkonghobbies.com.
Plus, all weekend the Outlaws are celebrating the Grand Opening of the all-new Pro Build Party Deck, sponsored by Spike's Bar and Grill. For $20, a fan gains admission to the game, admission to the deck and six FREE beers. The Pro Build Party Deck is only open to those who are age 21 and over.
The North Iowa Outlaws Hockey Club is in its fourth season as members of the North American Hockey League. The NAHL is the nation's largest Junior A hockey league and is now in its 33nd year of operation. For more information, visit northiowaoutlaws.com or call (641) 424-5468.
Outlaws home games are played at the North Iowa Ice Arena in Mason City, IA. All games will be broadcasted on northiowaoutlaws.com and video broadcast through B/2 Network.
